Evolve reveal trailer

2K and Turtle Rock Studios (Left 4 Dead) have released the first trailer for Evolve that introduces us to the game’s main concept of 4 v 1 where a team of four hunters will have to take out a player controlled alien who can, as the namesake suggests, evolve into bigger and more powerful forms. 

Evolve is set to launch later this year for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

Strider release date revealed, coming later this month
Double Helix and Capcom have been working on a new Strider game and it will be launching later this month on PC, PS4, PS3, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. February 18 in the US and February 19 in Europe/the UK is when you can expect to get your hands on the downloadable revival of Strider. 
It will be available through all of the usual downloadable marketplaces for £11.99/$14.99/€14.99.

Shovel Knight digging up NES platformer memories on March 31

Yacht Club Games are readying Shovel Knight for release on 3DS, PC, Mac, Linux and Wii U on March 31. The game recently went into alpha stages and they have released this trailer to celebrate the reveal of the launch date.

Shovel Knight is one of the few success stories to come from Kickstarter last year and will be bringing back many memories of Mega Man and other classic NES platformers with all-shovel based mechanics and a pixel art style.

It’s available for pre-order from the game’s official site via the Humble Store.

IO Interactive confirm they are working on new Hitman game, issues open letter to fans
In a post on the official Hitman website, IO Interactive have confirmed that they are working on a new game in the franchise for PC and the new consoles.

They also address fans in this post promising a more familiar feeling game with ‘open, non-linear[…]checkpoint free’ levels and the removal of Agent 47’s ‘magic pockets.’ 
But they aren’t abandoning everything that was added with Hitman: Absolution, Contracts mode will be making a return, the mode that allowed players to create custom objectives and rules in which to complete them. The game will also be running on the Glacier 2 graphics engine.

No definite details but it is nice to get an early idea of what’s next for the Hitman franchise.

Octodad: Dadliest Catch flails onto PC, Mac and Linux on January 30
Octopus ‘em up Octodad: Dadliest Catch will be coming to Steam, GOG and the Humble Store on January 30 and will be playable on PC, Mac and Linux when it launches.
No price was given, though one will be revealed closer to the game’s release.
Young Horses are shooting for a release on PS4 sometime in March as they are adding final touches to the console version such as trophies. They are also considering other console versions for Wii U and Xbox One depending on the performance of the currently planned versions.

New Darks Souls 2 trailer shows a harsh and brutal land

Dark Souls 2 is set to launch on March 11 (March 12 in Europe and March 14 in the UK) and it’s looking ready to welcome players in a very Dark Souls like way. That is to say, to chew you up and spit you out. 

Dark Souls 2 will be available on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.
