[[MORE]] First things first, a new Metal Gear Solid game has been announced, sub-titled Ground Zeroes. Little is known about the game other than it will be open-world and run of the FOX Engine that Kojima has been teasing for a while now. The first promotional image from the game shows Big Boss with the Militaires Sans Frontières patch on his shoulder so there’s a definite time period for the game to be set in. The title may be a reference to Major Zero and the fact that this entry in the series could link the ending of MGS4 and the whole MGS3. A 20 minute demo of the game was shown at the event, but nothing has been released outside of the event. Second piece of news from the event, a Metal Gear Solid movie is being made. Avi Arad, founder of Marvel Film Studios who has a hand in the Spiderman, X-Men and Iron Man films will be on board. No writers or directors were mentioned so it’s still early days and hey, if any game is suited to being a movie, Metal Gear Solid might just be it. Metal Gear Solid: Social Ops was also announced to be a mobile platform game that looks like it is based off of the Peace Walker engine.

Huge news coming out of the Metal Gear 25th anniversary event, here’s a roundup of everything.

First things first, a new Metal Gear Solid game has been announced, sub-titled Ground Zeroes. Little is known about the game other than it will be open-world and run of the FOX Engine that Kojima has been teasing for a while now.
